Maddog Productions Online
A BBS Experience in WordPress
Years ago in the 1980s and early 1990's BBS Systems were the heart of Online users. Members would join a BBS and Play online games and see scores, and play what were called Doors. Yeah, there were commercial ones like AOL and Compuserve, but there were many home-grown BBS systems too.
Maddog Productions BBS was a board this sysop ran in Pennsyvlania in the late1980s into mid 1990s. I had the idea to replicate the same experience using WordPress. Members could subscribe to the WordPress site, and we added some new games as Word Press Plugins that are similar to the classic turn-based games we used to play in ANSI screens. Using the inspiration we had from years ago playing turn-based games like Barren Realms Elite, Solar Realms, Tradewars and other doors.... well, in the same spirit as these games, with the help of Claude AI we have completely designed new exciting games as word press plug-ins.
Imperial Hackers on planet Cryptara Prime has you start as an entry level hacker in Aurelia (subnet 001) with a Scrapdeck 386 computer system and 25 honeypots. WP BBS Slots is a progressive Slot Machine for High Score Fame. This is simiilar to Imperial Barons which is space-trading game. Imperial Dominion is Roman theme based domination game that has Interleague Play game so that players on this BBS can then play against other BBS Word Press sites the way BRE used to work, or play local against the other players. All these games are all web based, no telnet, no ANSI is required. It is pure WordPress and WordPress plugins using your browser. Also, just as before, this site and BBS name is not affiliated with any studio or production company, it was simply the name of the BBS used in the late 1980s and 1990s but is now Online. Thus, Maddog Productions Online! A BBS Experience. If you are interested in setting up WordPress for a BBS experience. I can give you access to the WordPress games created too. Contact me. I also created this quick start guide here.
